The County Council elections
I have written today to North Norfolk MP Duncan Baker urging him to ask the government to postpone the County Council elections until the autumn. People need to be sure they can vote safely but they also have a democratic right to look candidates in the eye, to hear what they have to say and to decide whether they are going to vote for them. That can’t be done fairly if the lockdown prevents candidates engaging with voters. My email to Duncan Baker is here:
I have also asked North Norfolk District Council to send a postal vote application form to everyone in the District. That’s the best way to ensure people can vote safely. Sadly they do not currently seem to be willing to do that.
