A clear choice for your new County Councillor

On Thursday May 4th you get to choose a new County Council for Norfolk.

Ed Maxfield is the Lib Dem candidate for Mundesley Division which includes Antingham, Bacton, Gimingham, Knapton, Mundesley, Northrepps, Overstrand, Paston, Sidestrand, Trimingham and Trunch.

“Wyndham Northam has been a stalwart servant for the local area but his retirement means this election is a clear choice between myself and the new Conservative candidate. I fell in love with this part of North Norfolk when I first campaigned here for Norman Lamb more than 25 years ago. Now I am lucky enough to live locally and I am already campaigning hard on the issues that matter. It would be a real honour to represent local people at County Hall,” says Ed.

“Protecting coastal communities from flooding and defending our precious environment are top priorities for me,” say Ed. “I am supporting Lib Dem colleagues who are working to improve broadband and mobile phone coverage locally. But I also want to see real investment in improving local roads – repairing potholes and improving roadside drainage.”

Over the next four years the County Council faces some incredibly tough choices because of planned funding cuts. Liberal Democrats made a real difference to the way the County Council was run, working with other parties when voters ended Conservative rule in 2013. “I worry about the future of vital services if the Conservatives win control of the Council on May 4th,” says Ed.

Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday May 4th. Make sure you make your vote count!
