Road safety in Trimingham
Together with local residents and the Parish Council, I have been pressing for action to make the coast road through Trimingham safer for residents, motorists and walkers.
The Council has agreed to extend the 30mph speed limit at the western end of the village from Staden Park to beyond Woodland Holiday Park. I am backing the Parish Council in their efforts to get the limit extended further, to the Parish boundary, so it also includes the houses closer to Sidestrand. So far County Highways have refused to consider this.
Local MP Norman Lamb and I have also called on Highways to reduce the speed limit at the other end of the village to 20mph following two serious accidents this year. I am pictured with Norman and residents living opposite the church. The accident in February resulted in a car careering out of control, smashing their garden wall and coming to rest close to their house.
