Tragic stabbing in North Walsham

Awful news yesterday about a man being stabbed to death just round the corner from where I used to live in North Walsham.

It’s too early to draw conclusions about motives and causes but it is important that we ask whether violence and Anti Social Behaviour is on the rise in our market towns – and if so, why.

I have asked the local police to provide some background to the incident. I have also written to the leader of North Norfolk District Council and to the Police and Crime Commissioner to suggest that all authorities, and the voluntary sector, work together to address the root causes of any concerns.
