Improving road safety on the A149
After a number of road accidents on the A149 between Northrepps and Thorpe Market, my County Councillor colleague Tim Adams has been pressing hard for action to improve safety on the road. We have just had this message from the Highways team about work to extend the speed limit further out of the village:
Currently I am still waiting for a quote for this scheme – this is because the contractor are still awaiting a price for the signs. Once I have received this quote I would be able to order the scheme and once the signs have been delivered it could then be programmed. From ordering it takes at least six weeks for the signs to arrive and then it is likely to take another couple of months from that point to be installed.
