New speed limits proposed for Trimingham
After years of campaigning by local residents, action to improve road safety in Trimingham is on its way.
The plan includes introducing a 20mph speed limit in the village centre, covering Church Street, Loop Road, and a section of Church Road. Additionally, the proposal seeks to extend the current 30mph speed limit on the main routes leading into Trimingham, including Cromer Road, Mundesley Road, and Gimingham Road. The 30mph limit will include Middle Street, too.
The proposals are being funded by Norfolk County Council’s Community Road Safety Fund, Trimingham Parish Council and my Local Member Highways Allowance.
The aim of these restrictions is to limit the speed throughout Trimingham to improve safety for residents, pedestrians and other road users. It comes after a number of accidents in the village and concerns about the safety of a growing number of walkers following the Coastal Path through the village.
